Niha is a village in the Bekaa Valley about 8 km north of Zahlé. It is famous for its Roman archaeological ruins, and in particular temples that date back to the 1st Century A.D. The stamp features the Lower Small Temple with remnants of Ionic style columns.

Gate of Chains (Puerta de la Cadena) is one of the five gates which in past times gave access to the medieval town of Brihuega. The gate went through the War of the Spanish Succession in 1710 and a battle which took place there two centuries later.

The Arch of Medinaceli is a Roman triumphal arch located in Medinaceli, in Castile and León. The stone arch was built in 2nd-3rd Century in times of Domitian.

The Roman city of Cáparra is located in the ancient Roman province of Lusitania, in the north of Extremadura, whose capital was Colonia Augusta Emerita (modern day Mérida). The Arch of Cáparra (1st-2nd Century A.D.) is composed by four pillars placed at the corner of a square. It is 8.6 m x 7.3 m at its plan and 12.5 m high.

The Arch of Cabanes (2nd Century A.D.) is a Roman triumphal arch located 2 km from Cabanes (Castellón, Valencia). It was constructed of limestone on a base of granite blocks without mortar.

Makthar is a town and Roman-Berber site in Siliana Governorate, 140 km southwest of Tunis. The Triumphal Arch of Trajan was built in 116 A.D. and is inscribed with a description of the Emperor Trajan as the conqueror of the Germans, Armenians and Parthians.

The Holy Gate, also known as the Triumph Arch, is a monument located in the center of Chisinau. Built in 1846, the gate hold a 6.4-ton bell cast from Turkish cannons. Sixteen Corinthian columns provide support for the arched upper level.

The Temple of Khonsu at Karnak is an ancient Egyptian temple in Luxor, Egypt. It was originally constructed by Ramesses III, on the site of an earlier temple. The stamp design features the Gateway of Ptolemy III, which is the entrance to the Temple.

The great archway of Ctesiphon is the most prominent remaining structure of Ctesiphon, the capital city of the Parthian and Sasanian Empires (247 B.C. – 224 A.D. and 224–651 A.D. respectively). Ctesiphon is located 32 km southeast of the modern city of Baghdad, along the river Tigris. It was one of the great cities of the ancient Mesopotamia.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Gate of Justice, aka the Gate of the Esplanade, in the Alhambra, Granada, engraved by Enrique Paniagua Martínez (1940- ), and issued by Spain on June 25, 1975 as one of a set of six stamps promoting tourism, Scott No. 1894, Edifil No. 2269, plus a photo of the gate, which was built in 1348.

Samarqand in east-central Uzbekistan is one of the oldest cities of Central Asia, dated back to 4th Century B.C. The city was a prominent stop on the Silk Road trade route. The Gate of Samarqand was built in the 11th Century.

Spain on April 22, 1989 issued a stamp, which reproduces the facade of the Casa del Cordón ( Burgos). Intaglio printing method . Made by Antonino Sánchez , who won the First International Engraving Prize (1992 ) (intaglio)

Focusing on the Casa del Cordón (Burgos) which is the reason chosen to represent the stamp, include the Palace of the Constables of Castile is popularly known as the Casa del Cordón by the franciscan knot stone that decorates the facade house The stone bead surrounds the great eucharistic sun and the monogram IHS , and below this, the Coats of Arms of Pedro Fernández de Velasco y Mencía de Mendoza.
The palace was created in the fifteenth century by the Constable of Castile Pedro de Velasco. It is one of the most important civil buildings of the city. This listed monument since 1968 and is a well of cultural interest .
It is thought that the project was entrusted to Juan de Colonia had the help of his son , Simon, who was the project ended .
But it is also a history riddled building where they have developed some very important events :
The 04/23/1497 the Catholic Monarchs received at the Casa del Cordón Christopher Columbus , after returning from his trip America. In the same year the wedding of Prince Don Juan (son of the Catholic Monarchs ) with Princess Margaret ( daughter of Emperor Maximilian of Hapsburg ) is celebrated.
09/17/1506 come to town Felipe el Hermoso and Juana la Loca, Felipe el Hermoso died a few days later at the Casa del Cordón, from where the entourage that travels Castilla up to Granada where he was buried

Here is an image of a postal tax stamp depicting a Corinthian Solomonic column, printed by photogravure, and issued by Romania in 1932 to benefit culture funds, plus a brief description of Solomonic columns with a couple of illustrations. Note: This stamp is not listed in Scott.

The Gorges de l'Ardèche is made up of a series of gorges in the river and locally known as the "European Grand Canyon", Located in the French department Ardèche. The stamp features Pont d'Arc, a natural arch 60 m wide and 54 m high carved by the Ardèche River.
