How about we meet up rob since you are in Sydney also then you can report back to the forum your finding when I bring my good albums to show you
Okay, the best place will be at the club (put all the Australian stamps into one album or two), and I will view them at the club, and if necessary I will show Michael Drury, Dr. Scott Starling and Dr. Geoff Kellow any stamps that may need their expertising.
Or you can meet me at the club long before the first meeting (January 21), if you are willing then I will contact Philas House to see when the doors are open so we can have a room to ourselves.
What I have seen so far on the forum is not of much value (so seeing the albums you are referring to will be interesting to see), and seeing them in person would be much easier to assess, I can tell if they are common, scarce, rare etc., but I cannot assess them for currency value, that is left to people who are in business as the local stamp dealer or better still, stamp specialists.
You must remember that old stamps do not automatically make them valuable. And stamps that are hinged also lose value. Forgeries have no value unless they are of significant historical value and trimmed stamps (perforations removed to make the stamp look imperforated) are worthless.
Also rust destroys the value of the stamp and regummed stamps are also devalued.
And one main thing - try not to handle the stamps with your fingers, use stamp tweezers with the blunt ends.

with rogdcam, show some of those pics on this forum as well.
